Sometimes it is helpful to be notified about tweets about projects you are involved with and people you follow that do not come from followed accounts.

It would be nice if i for chosen accounts could say "their replies" "mentioning them via @account" and "posts using #topic" as well as just mentioning "searchresult" will appear in my timeline too.

You can already do this. Settings - tabs - new tab - search tab.

I have a tab set up for mentions of my website. IIt is really handy.
