[Extension BUG] Animated Text getting slower over time

Open Simple617 opened this issue 2 years ago • 10 comments

When a clone runs a Animated Text block, it slows down the project permanently, even if the clone is deleted. FPS gets lower and lower, until i reopen the project. Animated Text bug

I didn't find this issue occur in Scratch LAB.

Oh... that explains some FPS issues I've been experiencing lately.

I recommend moving this issue to TurboWarp/extensions instead of TurboWarp/desktop as this is an extension issue.

animated text has gone through many updates recently, does this still happen?

Every time TurboWarp gets updated, I run this test project to check whether it is fixed. Unfortunately, it still happens. @SharkPool-SP

It seems the same issue happens in Scratch Lab. Its due to the fact that youre repeatedly creating and deleting text skins all at the same time

I tested the same project in both Scratch Lab and TurboWarp. @SharkPool-SP

When I run this project in Scratch Lab, the frame rate might not be high initially. However, no matter how long it runs, the frame rate remains stable. Image

In TurboWarp, the frame rate might be decent initially. But after some time, the frame rate gradually starts to decline. Even if I restart the project by clicking the green flag again, the frame rate never returns to its original level. Image

Disabled this time. The frame rate still drops. Image
