Original Body: This task had been on the TG1 tracker, I'm moving it here to make it more visible and because it's still relevant.
We should add an article on "How to ask for help", either to the Sphinx docs or to the site CMS.
- Where to ask for support (mailing list, IRC; no direct mailing of authors)
- How to use mailing lists (use new thread, no top posting, cut unnecessary quotes)
- What information to provide (OS, Python version, TG version, sys.path, full traceback, code for reproducing)
- How to use a paste service
- Self-help: Basic debugging techniques and simple debugging tools
- How to ask questions the right way (http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html)
