Problems setting ember-cli package path

I'm running PyCharm Professional 2017.2.1 and Ember.js plugin 2017.2.1-0 on Ubuntu Linux (MATE desktop) 17.04. When I try to set up a new ember-cli project, I'm having problems setting the path to the ember-cli package. First, if I try to manually set the path, my keyboard entry gets all garbled up. Next if I try to navigate to the directory, it will not clear the error about unspecified ember-cli package even though it can see a version number for the package after selecting.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's a bug, but either way the UI is behaving strangely
