Unable to paste previous items

Hi all, I think this is related to https://github.com/Tudmotu/gnome-shell-extension-clipboard-indicator/issues/425 - but I'm writing a separate bug report in case its different issues with same behaviour.

I'm on Gnome 45.2 and Fedora 39.

The issue is the following: I can copy text and paste it anywhere. But selecting previous items from clipboard indicator cannot be pasted. Sometimes, if I shift-click previous items with the mouse (L-click), I can paste them again - but this is however irregular behaviour (I haven't tested enough on what makes it work or not). Clicking on the "paste" button in the appled does not help either.

Please let me know if I can provide any more info of use - I've grown reliant on this extension and my workflow is messed up without it 😅

Can confirm that this problem still occurs with GNOME 45.3 on Fedora 39

It is most definitely (at least in my case) related to 425 because it is only when I copy certain things. If i copy the word cheese and then bread after it I can click on cheese in the list and paste it with no issues.

Same issue on 45.4. It was messing with the currently copied items, which sometimes pastes and sometimes not! I had to remove this extension for this reason.

Same on Fedora 39, disappointing AF.

I found out that not every application behaves the same when you try to paste stuff. My situation: Firefox (Flatpak): does not work from time to time Telegram (Flatpak): works fine
