Are The Labels Associated With Particular Lane Lines (Left Lane, Right Lane, etc)

I'm wondering if the lane line labels are associated with particular lane lines relative to the viewer. What I mean is: Lane line 1 would always be the far left line, lane line 2 always the left line, lane line 3 always the right line, lane line 4 always the far right line etc. The dataset says the labels are centered on the viewer but where does the counterpoint lie? Is it in-between lines 2 and 3 or 3 and 4?
