Gothic1 mac m1 resolution option

Open matex1024 opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

First of all, it's extremely awesome work, guys, with rewriting it.

I've been testing both gothic 1 and 2 with mods for 1 is "edycja rozszerzona +" I've try to install other mods "świat skazanców 2.0", "czas zapłaty" but new game is not loading.

For gothic 2 chronicles of myrtana is working perfectly 👌 as you describe. It is working a lot better than with wine, crossovers etc.

The only big issue on gothic 1 I see is no same video settings to change resolution as in gothic 2. I can provide some screenshots and logs if you are not aware of this issue.

Gothic 1 isn't really supported yet.

Hi, @matex1024 and thanks for reporting!

I've checked vanilla version of Gothic1 from steam: изображение

Resolution option seem to be there? Could it be that menu content was altered by one of the mods you installed ?

I know this issue is a bit older so sorry to butt in but are you(@matex1024) using by any chance the build from Mac Source Ports? I found this build to be outdated by a couple of git tags, they currently offer tag 0.75 when there are more recent tags containing some bugfixes for macOS. I had this issue when using the build by Mac Source Ports but got rid of it by switching to the CI builds.

@damiel hi, could you share a guide on how to build 0.81 version? I haven't found anything like that or I'm looking in the wrong place, but I'd really like to get the latest version on a M-chip.

Hello @OnlyNinjaGear , as I mentioned in my last comment on this issue, I have not compiled the source code myself but used the CI builds that are available at Appveyor and downloaded a tagged build from there. You can access the history of builds here:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Try/opengothic/history

Scroll through the history until you find the build of a tag that you would like to try out, for example tag v0.82:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Try/opengothic/builds/51179938

On this page you will see all the build jobs that have been run for this tag, including the job for macos:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Try/opengothic/builds/51179938/job/bdqxludvm4ddog48

On that page you can see the build log and more importantly there is a tab called "Artifacts". Click on that to get redirected to this page:

https://ci.appveyor.com/project/Try/opengothic/builds/51179938/job/bdqxludvm4ddog48/artifacts

There you will find the download for a zip archive containing the files required to run OpenGothic. Please note that these downloads are only available for a limited time so make sure to keep an backup for later testing if you require it.

If you really want to build the project yourself, there are instruction in the ReadMe file of this project which you need to follow: https://github.com/Try/OpenGothic?tab=readme-ov-file#macos-1

Closing:

  • Resolution choice (full/75%/50%), works as scale of window resolution been there for long time.
  • Some may confuse resolution and interface scaling. Interface scale also implemented: https://github.com/Try/OpenGothic/issues/301
