Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

not really a problem, but a concern that the front of the website & app - when user is already a member/logged in - gives off some less than exciting vibes. It would be great if the site and app encouraged people to search for contacts and engage.

Describe the solution you'd like

1. when logged in, the top module is 'how does it work?' which should be the 2nd module. the top module should be an attractive image (like the join ones. they are great!) and maybe two fields: 'search a place to discover' and 'search for a person to connect with' the place field would take the user to the map with the search field filled in. I'm not sure how to search for members by name... that should be possible yes?
2. get rid of the couch image on the 'how does it work' module. it's the logo of couchsurfing and couchers, and doesn't do anything great for hospitality anyway. the tree logo is excellent.

Describe alternatives you've considered

there could be many different things added to the top module, but this is the minimum IMO. another really great bit of content would be testimonial scroller, with UGC and photos talking about the why and what they got out of TR.
