Blood Blast --- Kinetic Blade issue?
Trying to use Dark Codex to do a run with a fun idea I had for a blood whip wielding dhampir using the Blood Kineticist archetype. Well, just reached level 7 in my playthrough and hitting a huge snag- Blood Blast and the new Wrack were granted, but I received no new Kinetic Blade ability to wield my Blood Blast.
Using ToyBox I was able to find a "BloodWaterKineticBladeFeature" to try and manually add to my character, but strangely it has the proper attack roll but a 0+str listed for damage instead of... y'know, the Composite Blast damage. So basically it's totally non-functional. Is this something in need of a patch? Is there a manual workaround I can do?
Edit: I guess I should note, I'm using ToyBox + Dark Codex with the "Fix Blood Kineticist" patch along with numerous other optional patches like Whip, Blade Rush, Spell-like Blasts, and Kineticist Allow opportunity attack among other less relevant ones. Just in case one of those could be involved.
For testing purposes, I also tried to manually grant myself "Charged Water Blast - Kinetic Blade" but that also displays the same 0 damage, and I can confirm they actually do deal no damage in practice- not just a display error.
Did you actually use the weapon? The damage info is independent of the actual damage.
Ah, thank you for replying. Yes, I in fact did test both the Blood Blade I added, as well as trying to use other composite blasts like the Charged Water one just as a test. Both of them dealing nada for damage, not just on the character sheet but in-combat as well.
To reiterate, the whip feature seems to be functioning just fine, as does Blade Dash. My regular composite Blood Blast is there and functions as usual, as does my Water Blade. It's just the Composite Kinetic Blade that is not even showing up- and when I try to force it onto my character they are broken in this manner. Not sure what's going on here. I suppose I can continue on with my playthrough without the composite full attacks at higher levels, but I'm hoping there's some way to get it working.

Following up: I tried respeccing my character at Hilor. First I respecced into the same build, Blood Kineticist with the same choices, and it was still not working and granted no Composite Blade. Then I tried respeccing into a standard Kineticist by talking to Hilor. Upon completing that respec, saving + reloading, my core Kineticist received his working composite blast blade. So it seems to be tied into Blood Kineticist specifically.. reading online in preparation for my run has told me that Blood Kineticist not functioning in some way is the least shocking thing of all time.
The base ability that adds the Blood Kinetic Blade is missing in Owlcat Land.
And kinetic blade is made up of multiple abilites.
I'm about to drop a fix for this one in Tome of the Firebird.
I think to remember that the ability was there, but wasn't granted by anything. But then again, when I added it, it still didn't work. So I am clearly overlooking something.
And my fix didn't work either.
I got Kinetic Blade's feature granting it working after Owlcat's grant from Blood Blast didn't work but I couldn't get it dealing damage and couldn't find out why.
Weird. This is low priority for me. Frankly, I think blood kineticist is pretty boring. There is nothing of interest mechanic wise. It's probably weaker than plain kineticist. Maybe it would be cool for a vampire character. But I don't recall that being a thing ingame.
