Can't download apks from Github app [email report]

Steps to reproduce

1. Set URLCheck as the default browser
2. Open the Android Github app.
3. Go to any release with an apk, for example https://github.com/recloudstream/cloudstream/releases/tag/v4.0.1
4. Press the apk file to download

Expected behavior

Either URLCheck opens with options to download the file, or it is downloaded directly.

Actual behavior

URLChecker opens but it says "no apps"

Other details

If URLCheck is NOT set as the default browser, a quick page is opened and then it starts the download.

Note: I received this report by email. On my device the actual behavior is that URLCheck opens with Firefox and Chrome as options. I'm unable to replicate this issue, seems to be something related to Xiaomi, maybe a download app that isn't being correctly detected?
