Add note view for detailed information on row
I like treenote a lot. Was looking for a self-hosted workflowy like tool ... treenote gives me that. I understand that you are not available till september... but new feature wishes are always good ...right :-)
Adding reminders and one-row items for yourself is good but sometimes you want to add details to a row without generating a hierarchy beneath this row. I would like to see an option to open an editor screen where you can enter text. Maybe with markdown support?
In the short time I used this software I have logged for example short meetingnotes in it. For now with one row for each subject of the meeting with sometime extra sub-rows per subject. Having a single page where I can write markdown is seems like a logical next step to me.
This view / screen / note or how you call it does not need to be visible in the main screen of the application. Maybe only a marker indicating there is a note for that row.
Thanks for making it available ...
BTW : any indicator how big a treenote file can be and maintaining work-able?
Thanks :-) For what reasons were you looking at self-hosted? Moo.do and Dynalist are nice alternatives.

Exactly that is planned for the new collaborative TreeNote thing :-)

Mine has 30.000 entries. Editing works like a charm. Searching a word takes around 5 seconds, I suffer from that. The collaborative TreeNote thing will be a complete rewrite in Scala which will be fast even with huge trees.
self-hosted is for privacy reasons and unneeded bloat. I tried moo.do and dynalist. The first is hard to navigate with a keyboard and the second wants a lot of rights on your Google Drive .
I like the 'simple' workings of Treenote (I mean that as a compliment :-) ) and the fact it is fully keyboard operated.
Nice to hear your are doing a full rewrite. Let my know if I can help you test / document or something.
