Cannot connect after programming.

Open ZKing1000 opened this issue 6 years ago • 8 comments

I've successfully programmed my gen 7 board as shown on the wiki, but now when I try to connect from repetier host I get no response, but a communication timeout... I'm not sure what to do. I can't get any response really. I don't know how to troubleshoot this. Thanks.

you have to test another ftdi board

I'd start with connecting by a serial port terminal (GtkTerm, PuTTY, ...) to see whether communications is actually faulty. Then Pronterface. Repetier host is known to have its own idea of how communications should be and ignoring standards to some extents.

Connecting through the command, 'sudo screen /dev/ttyACM0 115200', resulted in a blank terminal. I haven't had much success installing pronterface on linux, but when I've tested it in windows, I haven't had much success either... I don't know how to get any real response from this thing.

The mcp2200 seems to functioning properly, but no response from the microcontroller, even though programming was successful.

Maybe there's some type of test firmware?... I do need to buy an oscilliscope... I assume the lpc1114 is working.

@Traumflug On second thought, are there any conditions under which you could provide my an lpc1114 or two separately? I could buy a couple from you if that is possible. Or if anyone is aware of any breakout boards I could order for the SMD form of this chip, then that may be an option, as I don't believe I can order the DIP form myself without a quote. Thanks.

Don't know what you are talking about, but you can buy breakout boards everwhere, e.g.: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1377 You can order the chip for example at: https://www.arrow.com/en/products/lpc1114fbd483021/nxp-semiconductors Arrow currently has free express shipping with no minimum order amount.

@ZKing1000, of course you can get a couple of them. It's not explicitly mentioned, one can get every part as a spare part: https://www.reprap-diy.com/start
