Usage with Shelter Sandbox
In conjunction with the Shelter app, I installed a work profile. Apps from the work profile are not listed in the main view of Tracker Control, which makes it impossible to control their blocking status. In fact, when an app is duplicated, so that one version exists in each profile, even the private/regular profile version is not listed.
This was observed with the 2020.05.08-fdroid version.
Thanks for raising this! Does this work for other blocking apps, such as Blokada?
Might it be possible to install TrackerControl twice?
I haven't tried this with Blokada.
Using Shelter, I can clone Tracker Control into the work profile, where it produces the expected list of work profile apps. Also, I was misguided regarding apps that exist in both profiles: They are properly shown each in their respective profiles; I just did not spot them, because mine were system apps and I had not turned on the option to show these.
I haven't tried turning both Tracker Control instances on simultaneously, as this can only go south, right?
I don’t know what would happen. I heard it might work, though it seems unrealistic.. But it seems it’d be difficult to have TC work with Shelter.
Quick update regarding Blokada: It behaves the same way as Tracker Control - apps from the work profile are not shown. Yet, KISS launcher gets it right: Apps from work profile are shown with a briefcase badge. While this is from a totally different field, gathering a list of apps might still be quite the same. The source code is open and might provide some idea of how to do it: https://github.com/Neamar/KISS
Any plans to integrate this functionality (controlling blocking of trackers in the work profile)? I understand you wouldn't be able to necessarily get the list of apps, but perhaps it could lump all work profile apps into one section so you could control all requests/trackers from there.

I don’t quite understand. Does installing TrackerControl in both profiles not work for you?
So TC doesn't filter any apps in a work profile if it is not installed in that profile?

Correct
