Request: Could we slow the effect down?

It’s one of my favorite lighting plugins, but when you’re typing quickly it looks like random flashing lights. It’d be great if we could slow the effect down (hopefully while retaining framerate, i.e. it’d be nice if this weren’t implemented by simply increasing milliseconds between simulation steps).
