@Mention Ding
Basically, if your name is said anywhere in adminchat or regular chat, with the prefix of @, a loud ding will be played at your position, and the message will turn yellow. When the message is re-sent in chat, the @ prefix is removed, and the player's name is turned aqua, green, purple (depending on if you are a senior, super, telnet, etc.). It would make the player's name change colors for everyone, but only highlight the whole message for the person defined after the prefix. There is a clock to prevent people from spamming it. Admins can byoass the clock, and also use these in /say.
This is actually a good idea.
This was discussed a few weeks ago on the forums and was decided against it, as it will simply get abused by people spamming usernames.
Personally I am against this idea.
I agree with Jerom, this sounds like a neat feature. Sure, it might have potential to be abused, but we can deal with those people.
Implementation is open to any takers. I'm personally too swamped to work on this for the time being.
may make it togelbel too? so the player that dont whant the ding can turn it of for they self
Or they just turn off their sounds.
but if thay whan sounds and dont whant to hare the ding?
Possibly make a command that toggles a boolean?
@Hockeyfan360 Don't worry about the implementation. Shouldn't be too hard to do. :)
Every command can be abused but when people abuse them, they get banned.
@GreatRaider True, but not every command will be making an irritating noise every time your name is mentioned.
@Wild1145 That is why the command toggles the dinging. It doesn't have to be turned on all of the time.
@Wild1145 @Hockeyfan360 It would be easier to prevent a player from getting dinged twice in the same minute or two.
@JeromSar Im not saying it wouldnt be, im just saying that while every command Could be abused it doesn't make it right to add this command under that same general ruling.
I'd also like a way where you can set never to get them, I dont normally play with game sounds, but I never ever ever ever want to be dingged on my name...
Maybe /ahelp which makes a ding to all online admins
@GreatRaider Maybe so, but same potential that everyone is gonna might spam the command.
People can spam /me, but they don't other wise they get banned
@GreatRaider What happens if there's no admins? .-.
Then that doesn't matted @RobinGall2910 because only admins get the ding
@GreatRaider You're right meh.
well, that's what they all say
