Hi,

i would love to use your addon, but it seems that there is an error popping up, everytime i want to export. What am i missing?

best kai

Hi Kai, What version of the plugin and Flash/Animate are you using. The last version that was compatible with CS6 was v3.36.

TomByrne avatar Mar 07 '17 20:03 TomByrne

Thanks for reaching out. I am using Animate CC with the latest version of the plugin.

Hey @TomByrne - I can confirm too, there seems to be some glitch with new Flash as I got the same error and could not export SVGs.

However, I then went into older version since I have it still installed, this one:

And there it worked OK.

But the plot thickens, because once it worked in the old version, then it started working in the new version as well. As if the old one "unclogged" something :D

Hey guys, Sorry for the delayed response. I can't explain the change in behaviour, and Adobe's extension install process is pretty opaque. Kai, are you still having the issue? Are you getting this issue with an unsaved document? Would you be able to send me the FLA that is causing the issue?

@TomByrne : I just started running into this issue as well. Same story. It was working a few weeks ago, but now it's not.

Not sure if my mac did an auto-update or what.

My file is attached.

Sorry for the delay in looking into this. The plugin relies on Animate's built-in SVG exporter. There was a bug with this in Animate v2017.1 (on Mac only). If this matches what you're running please try upgrade to v2017.2 (or downgrade to v2017). If you are still seeing this issue but not on Mac v2017.1, please reply so I know there's still an issue.

See the bug discussion on Adobe forums

Thank you for looking into this! I updated Animate (now known as "Animate CC and Mobile Device Packaging"...!) and your exporter does indeed work again!

Cheers!

Hi. I'm using 2017.5 (Mac) and the latest plugin from the Adobe Addons site. I still see this issue. As soon as I hit 'Export' I get an error... TypeError: svgXml.defs[0] is undefined. Thanks.

OK, ignore the above. Suddenly (and mysteriously) started working.

Is this plugin working with the latest Animate CC?

RenaldoAlin avatar Aug 01 '18 14:08 RenaldoAlin

Same error on CC 2017 build 16.0.0.122 (Windows 10).

Same Error... Version: Animate 19.2.1 (Mac)

Yakito avatar Jul 15 '19 17:07 Yakito

I have the same issue with same as Yakito above, 19.2.1 on Mac. Anybody know of any other way to animate SVG's? From here on I only see some online options (SVGator). Bodymovin in AfterEffects works but I think it wraps it in something. I can't believe this is so hard to get done.
