Feature request: Add Drag to Reorder to Shopping Lists

Open kalikid021 opened this issue 7 months ago • 2 comments

What's the feature 🧐

  • Add the drag to reorder option, that already exists in the settings menu, to the shopping list.

My wife generally creates the shopping lists for me, and when I get to the store, I reorder the list based on where it is in the store based on my route through the store, so that I can check things off easily without having to scroll or search through the list. In the app we currently use this is how I use it.

  • Create multiple shopping lists per household

I would like to have one list for the Grocery Store, and another List for Costco, however in the way the app works, I need to create a separate household for each list. This also would lend more utility, as you could create a "Household" for Camping, and have a shopping list, a packing list, etc. And another household for "Vacation" with specific lists for these locations

Hey, thanks for the issue! Though I'm not sure if I quite understand it right. It seems like you want to reorder shopping lists, but also:

My wife generally creates the shopping lists for me, and when I get to the store, I reorder the list based on where it is in the store based on my route through the store, so that I can check things off easily without having to scroll or search through the list. Technically, item categories are designed for that. You can reorder them in the household settings too.

Create multiple shopping lists per household

You can do that in the household settings. You don't need multiple households for it.

Could you clarify the feature request a bit more?

If you can't find the household settings: Only household admins can access the household settings. And until the previous release, the one who created the household had to make the other members household admins explicitly. If you create a household on the current release, every member should be an admin by default.

If I make a list currently

  • eggs
  • bread
  • cheese
  • milk And I want it in a different order, I can't move milk to the top. It can't be reordered after the list is created, it would have to be made in a specific order if you wanted it to be in a specific order.

Separately I noticed in the settings menu, the items that you can have showing on the left can be reordered by dragging them. So the functionality to drag menu item in a different order exists, could you apply that to the shipping list so that they can be reordered
