Feature request: OpenFoodFacts
What's the feature 🧐
I don't know if this is already included or planned, it would be a great help if you could scan a code and add it to KitchenOwl, rather than having to add it all manually, especially if you have to do it every time.. And so I thought of OpenFoodFacts

What's the feature monocle_face
Hey Tom,
let me begin by saying: I know this is a big feature request, but I really like the idea so I wanted to share.
What if there was an option in kitchenowl to add items via barcode scanner which then pulls the product details and photo from open food facts. Integrate the information retrieved into a new product within kitchenowl.
The Barcode Scanner app has this functionality and is released under GPL3.
They also have
* Cosmetic Products with [Open Beauty Facts](https://world.openbeautyfacts.org/) * Pet Food Products with [Open Pet Food Facts](https://world.openpetfoodfacts.org/) * Books with [Open Library](https://openlibrary.org/)
integrated. Don't think books would be necessary, but the cosmetic and pet food products would be a nice touch too.
My use case for this would be: A product is empty and before throwing the packaging away, I'll open kitchenowl, press the + icon in the lower corner and a barcode scanner is opened. I scan the barcode of the empty product and kitchenowl pulls the details of the scanned product and adds it to the "to buy" list.
Like I said, a big feature request but I thought I share the thought. :)

Since there are multiple people intressted in this feature here is a short update. I like the idea and OpenFoodFacts looks exactly like something I want to include. I planned some parts of it already (like the UI and what libraries to use (i.e. mobile_scanner). One thing I'm still not sure about is how to integrate OpenFoodFacts as this has some Licence implications and this should be opt-in such that your data is not shared with openfood facts without consent.
Most likely I will first add the scanner capabilites with people having to manually assign barcodes to items and then later think about integrating OpenFoodFacts.
That's great news @TomBursch :-) Feel free to join the Open Food Facts slack, and ask any question
