Feature request: Order by store Isle and section

Open Pontiac76 opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

What's the feature 🧐

I prefer efficiency, and the GTHO mentality when dealing with stores. What would be great to have is the ability to setup named sections of the store I'm visiting, set the order of those named sections (Meats and Veggies come before Isle numbers in my stores case) and then be able to tag grocery items to those sections. Each store would have their own ordering. By default, if an item is not set to an isle, it'd go into an "Unknown Isle" section. Being able to edit the item to quickly select the isle the item is in while you're physically in the store would be nice.

When displaying the grocery list when shopping, an additional sort order could be selected. Alphbetical, Algorithmic, Category, Store Sections.

This would mean that when I load up a grocery list, first item shown is the vegetables which would be on my right when I walk in. Then meats. Then Seafood. Then breads. Then pharmacy. Etc.

Thinking about it as well, if an isle doesn't have anything selected, a user preference to hide isles that don't need to be visited, or, shoved to the bottom of the list even, would be a decent time saver.

If you're on shoppinglist-page, you can change the sorting mechanism on the top-right. Sorting by "category", it's basically sorted by aisle (it matches my supermarket pretty good). You can change the order of categories in the settings, but only for all supermarkets.

As @crosspolar mentioned Categories do what you want. The only thing they don't allow is to have different orders for different stores. So if store A has it's frozen food section at the entry and store B has it at the end there is no way to solve this at the moment. It would be nice to have a default sort order and then overrides that can be activated manually for specific stores or event triggered by location…
