[Tahoe 26.1] Colorpicker 2.3.0 ARM64 version damaged

Open imElec67 opened this issue 1 month ago • 1 comments

Title: ARM64 DMG shows "app is damaged" error on macOS Tahoe 26.1

Describe the bug When downloading and trying to install the latest 2.3.0 ARM64 version on macOS Tahoe 26.1, I get the error: "Colorpicker.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image." The regular (Intel) DMG works but runs with noticeable lag on Apple Silicon.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download Colorpicker-2.3.0-arm64.dmg
  2. Open the disk image
  3. Drag Colorpicker.app to Applications folder
  4. Try to launch the app
  5. See error: "Colorpicker.app is damaged and can't be opened"

Expected behavior The ARM64 version should install and run natively on Apple Silicon devices without errors.

Workaround Using Colorpicker-2.3.0.dmg (Intel version) works but runs through Rosetta 2 with suboptimal performance.

System Information:

  • Device: MacBook Pro M1 Pro
  • macOS Version: Tahoe 26.1
  • App Version: 2.3.0

Additional context The ARM64 binary appears to be corrupted or improperly signed on macOS Tahoe 26.1. This is likely a packaging/distribution issue rather than a code issue since the Intel version functions correctly.

Hey @imElec67 sorry for the issue, the quick fix is https://github.com/Toinane/colorpicker/issues/149#issuecomment-3139456972 I need to pay a licence to do a good signed packaging. But I reserve the pay of licence for the next major update instead.
