app quits automatically when I don’t look at it for a little while

Hi!

I’m using the app on a brand new (received it last Friday) Versa Special Edition connected to an iPhone XR.

I already have Spotify HR setup on the bottom right button.

So I start the app and tap on the heart and the shuffle icon appears. All the remote controls work and every once in while the app seems to choose a song from (maybe like it’s skipping songs really fast). So far so good.

So I leave on and start doing something else while the music plays. If I frequently look at the watch, I see Spotify HR. But if I don’t look for a while, when I look I’m back at the clock face, i.e. Spotify HR quit or crashed while I’m not looking.

Thanks! David Laprise

Since the last update the app on the versa closes as soon as the screen goes to sleep

Is that a feature or a bug?

i hope its a bug, otherwise this has become a useless app

as a workaround, is there a way to prevent the screen from going to sleep ?

Didn't find any...

I tried the "always on" setting of the Nothing Special clockface, the "screen always on" of the developer mode...

I suppose it does stay open for longer when I choose 60 seconds for the screen close time, but eventually I forget about it and spotify hr closes anyway...

This looks like the reason:

https://dev.fitbit.com/blog/2018-10-05-announcing-fitbit-os-2.2/#app-timeout-api:

All apps targeting SDK 2.0 will now automatically terminate after 2 minutes of inactivity (after the display turns off). Users will now see their clock after waking the device again. This change was added to improve usability, and potentially reduce battery usage of unwanted apps.

It'd be a simple patch to fix it
