I see that a lot of stuff changed since my last review. Once @saibotk comments are resolved, I can take a second look at it again as well
Could you try `TTT2FinishedLoading` as a hook as this one is hotreload safe and called after all entities are ready. Just to rule out a basic GMod entity syncing issue....
I think one of the next minor releases (not v.0.13.1) will put a focus on syncing for late joiners

Looking at the wiki it looks like a player can indeed be dead: https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Player:Alive However this might be overwritten in TTT to keep spectators alive as well?
