[NFSMW] XInput rumble

Open floppyD opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

I noticed that rumble works for all of my DirectInput controllers, but my Xinput controllers don't vibrate at all. Is it possible to make it work?

It also affects NFSU2.

@floppyD, For DirectInput games such as NFSMW use this: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/541907867790900215/

@HarGabt That driver is neat, I remember using it some years ago for playing other games, but it had a bad habit of getting the motors stuck at full blast randomly. Anyway, I'll be using it for now, but a native implementation would be nice too. Thanks.

There's no need actually, rumble was so badly ported on PC that actually 10% of the effects work.

On Need For Speed : Most Wanted there's only the " crash " at high speed that will make the controller vibrate, and the grass ( Which is using the wrong motor by the way ).

If someone could check in the game how to add the missing effects, that would be nice.

driver is pretty neat but it doesn't work with Xbox One or Series X|S controllers as the driver only installs for Xbox 360 controllers (and controllers that emulate one)

@Scar557 , it feels like the force feedback for every PC port was made with steering wheels in mind. The worst example of implementing force feedback feature is in Underground on PC, where gamepad vibrates every time you steer.

This shall be fixed in XtendedInput.
