[Silent Hill 4] Game crashes when I pick up an item

Exactly what I've said, I'm playing the European version, tried it out and everytime I try to pick up the Milk and Chocolate from the fridge it says what I just got and crashes. Without the Widescreen Fix it gives me a description and it goes on. Also, I tried to continue without picking the items from the fridge, but then there's the steel pipe in the hole, and it crashes too.

Disabling "no intro" option (and may be some other options, i'm not sure) fixes the problem for me. There is also some artefacts in empty scrap book when bug is active, picking up scraps crashes the game too.

I have the same problem, skipIntro doesn't solve the issue Edit: the game crashes when I set the res to my desktop (1366x768) but setting the res to 1280x720 fixes it

No intro also fixes problem for me, so it seems pretty random.

Hi I just had problem with SH4 too . When I met Cynthia and she went to the restroom and then I killed the 2 dogs. But when I entered restrooms there is that "portal - giant hole" but when I decided to go back to apartment via that hole my game crashes everytime. Any suggestions guys?
