Need for Speed Underground 2 Not Working
I remember using this patch a couple of years ago and it worked perfectly, but for some reason it won't activate anymore, using the exact same install I used last time. I tried using the outdated patch, and I tried using the newest one, to no avail. I also tried several nocd cracks, because I had read the fix wouldn't work with some of them. I'm out of ideas now, and I'm pretty frustrated. I've also noticed there's been several similar requests around the same time 6-10 months ago, has there been a change in the way the patch works?

Yup, it doesn't work anymore. Another friend tried using it and it hasn't worked for him either. I don't remember which version I used that used to work.
Can either of you describe what you mean by it's "not working". Is it crashing? Is it not doing something you expect it to do? A screenshot of the game might be helpful too.

It's a widescreen fix, right? If 'it's not working', that means it's not setting up the custom widescreen resolution it's supposed to set the game to. And yes, I'm setting a custom resolution via the ini file. The skip intro option doesn't work either.
I tried using foobar, tried hoodlum's nocdfix crack, tried patching manually, nothing helps.

I have to ask because there was someone else who claimed that the widescreen fix wasn't working, who also claimed to have having issues with the resolution not changing, but the screenshots they provided clearly showed that it was, in fact, working. It was simply the HUD and FOV that weren't being corrected, presumably because of an error they made. They quickly fixed the problem on their own.
So now I have to ask, is dinput8.dll in the same folder where your SPEED2.exe is located? Have you tried using other mods, like Extra Options or HD Reflections, with any success? Could you copy and paste your ini file settings here?

My desktop resolution is 1920x1080, and this screenshot shows a 640x480 screen. Yes, I know how to install the widescreen patch; I've done it before. It's exactly where it needs to be.
I haven't tried Extra Options yet, because I wanted to check out if everything works at every step.
Okay, the ini file you uploaded is for the first Need for Speed Underground, when it should be for Underground 2. So you either uploaded that file by mistake or you're using the wrong widescreen fix,

Okay, I've rechecked with the proper files and they're working. Although Idk how I ended up downloading the nfsu1 fix instead of the nfsu2 one, because I've been specifically opening the nfsu2 download page.
I've recently seen at least one other person make the same mistake with Underground 2. I've checked the downloads on ThirteenAG's page and on NFSMods and everything appears to be correct. Just an honest mistake I guess.
I'll leave this open for now, in case OP decides to respond, but he probably won't considering this issue was created 2 months ago. Let me know if you have any other problems.
