(Wine/Linux) Overloader doesn't load loose files

Open purplebar0 opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

Game version this happens in

v1.0.7.0

What area of the game

In #324 I outlined an issue where symbolic links (on host filesystem) cause issues with Overloader. However, this time, with newer versions, I'm having issues loading any files at all.

It is evident by the lack of additional menu options:

Luckily, as a workaround, I had a flawless time using ModFS, which is a FUSE-based virtual mount which, I'd imagine, is very similar to how Windows tools like Mod Organizer 2 work, just for Linux.

-- and of course, the files were taken out of overload directory, otherwise there wouldn't be a difference.

I tested this under Proton GE 9-22 and umu.

What should happen

The loose files in update should be loaded.

Last working version

To be determined, maybe before v3.0.0

People use it on steam deck, it works there.

For the record, I did test on a Steam Deck too...

Given that this issue was introduced with an undetermined version (when I'll have more time, I'll try out more older versions), I suspect that nobody noticed? I'll have to dig further, but in any case, side-by-side, using a version from last year this functionality worked as expected, minus symlinks.
