3MF files for the mini robot
I tried to print the mini using the provided 3mf for BambuLab printers and faced the following errors:
- The automatic supports are really difficult to remove
- The part strength is too low, causing the 3D print to break when trying to remove the supports
- The part orientation on the build plate could be improved - maybe if the robot was laid flat, it could be better?
These are the settings I used to get the best results:
- Increase part strength to 50% - a little overkill I know, but now I can remove supports and the print doesn't break
- Change support type to tree (auto) on Bambu Studio - the part strength can be reduced from 50% in this case, but 15% is still probably too low.
Maybe a feature request: Can we have a SO-101 mini version as well?
The mini readme says these require the use of PLA+. If you aren't using PLA+ (light green. No mention of manufacturer) this is likely one reason you're getting weak parts.
I'll also leave the obligatory "did you dry your filament (even if it's new)?" question.
The 3mf file loads into my Bambu Studio with tree supports already selected.
I agree; orientation should be shifted. I think that if the base part is rotated 90 degrees, this would allow for the entire assembly to lay on its side.
