Backport to Minecraft 1.8.9

Heya, I'll definitely look into it, but I can't make any promises. From the small bit of experimentation and research I've done, it'll take quite a bit of work. That is, unless you like pink and black checker patterns. It may be possible, though! I'll keep you posted on progress here.

Hey, quick status update! I have an early alpha ready to go for 1.8! I'm still working out how to make the less friendly shapes work (item models have changed a lot since 1.8, so it's kinda hard to accomplish what I did in the 1.16 version).
