Selecting the dropper on a high-res windows display

Open alastc opened this issue 7 years ago • 13 comments

Hi,

There are a couple of issues when using on Windows with a high-res display.

It is rather difficult to select the dropper on a 4k 15" display (at 250% size in the OS settings):

And if I drag it onto a second (standard res) monitor, it's impossible:

I'm afraid I know absolutely zero about Windows app dev, so not sure about solutions, but I'd be happy to test builds if it would help?

Are you using version 2.5.0? 2.5.0: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCA-Win/tree/master/package 2.5.5: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCA-Win/tree/develop/package

I shall check when I get home, it was a recentl download from the TPG download page.

The version I'm using is 2.5.0.0.

I just tried 2.5.5, didn't seem any different:

I bought cheap 4k display and tried again, but I can't reproduce it yet. Please give me some time to think about it.

I think the trigger is more likely to be having a high-res primary monitor (at ~250% in the settings), the icon-to-word sizing becomes strange.

Has anyone figured out a fix for using the eyedropper tool on a high-res monitor? I use Colour Contrast for work and I bought a new computer and can no longer use the program.

I have just updated. would you try it? CCA 2.5.6 32bit: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCA-Win/blob/develop/package/Colour_Contrast_Analyser32bit.exe 64bit: https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCA-Win/blob/develop/package/Colour_Contrast_Analyser64bit.exe

That worked. Thank you!

That helped a bit:

And now I see the F11/F12 short-cut, which solves it for me.

It is still really tiny on a second (not high-res) monitor when the primary is high-res:

It seems like the layout of the buttons doesn't fit when it's high res?

(Sorry, accidentally hit close).

I have uploaded new binary files https://github.com/ThePacielloGroup/CCA-Win/tree/develop/package

That doesn't seem to have helped, this is from my primary (high res) display:
