ownCloud is supposed to be the default application to open those files. What happens if you double-click a .owncloud file?

In the second case it claims that the client does not know about the affected file. Does the file exist on the server, or is it a zombie placeholder?

And if you perform a forced sync and try it again, does it still complain that the file is not in the db?

Aborted usually means a timeout, you might have overwhelmed your server a bit. Under certain conditions it can also be that the client now has to check whether the move...

Normally we should detect renames and not require the recalculation. I assume the rename triggered so many filesystem notifications that we lost some... The computation is expected to be tough...
