Triangle crashes when there's a kernel skprx line

Open shlomi-toren-sp opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

So, if I have anything under kernel in the config.txt, aka gamesd or repatch, triangle on the home screen causes the vita to restart (of course I've restarted the vita and enabled h-encore again before trying that). If there's nothing there, triangle opens the menu like normal.

Are you talking about the config.txt in ux0, or in ur0?

Make sure the vitashell on the sd card is updated. That was the issue with mine at least. Also using the install vitashell option with h-encore only updates to 1.82 so try using the VPK. Just moving the eboot didn't work for me either. I had to get the VPK and install it.

Make sure when you install it that the vitasd is activated and you can see it in your ux0.

@TartanSpartan I tried both. Currently it's in ur0 because I wanted to try SD2Vita but my adapter doesn't work. @mcallbosco It's 1.94, says so when you click on it before you start it. I can try to download the VPK and install it via vita shell itself.

@mcallbosco unsurprisingly, I can't install vitashell from vitashell. The auto updates are on and it doesn't update anything, so it's safe to assume I'm on 1.94. Any further advice?

Look at the top left. What is the ver number while the sd card is mounted? Auto updater didn't work for me either.

Even though it gave me an error code I still got an updated vita shell. What you could also try doing is installing the vita home brew browser and reinstall vitashell through that. If it shows at 1.94 while the sd card is mounted in vitashell though then I guess its a different problem.

Edit: Also from what I have experienced the live area can be wrong with the version number. I wouldn't trust it. You could also always install the latest vitashell on your non sd memory, transfer it to a pc using cma and then transfer it back when you get the sd card mounted again to replace the vita shell install you have on there.

1.94. I can't use the sd card, my adapter is faulty. I also tried the homebrew browser, same result. I rmeoved everything, reinstalled it and reset the config: still triangle doesnt work, so I can't refresh the live area.

Having the same problem. Tried almost everything, nothing seems to be able to fix this issue. In case you or anyone lese finds a solution I'd be absolutely ecstatic to find out.

Managed to fix the issue for me. (Should have probably realized this sooner, but) updating from 3.63 to 3.65 did the trick.
