Describe your suggestion
The current installation lesson titles look like this:
Installations(Of what?)Text Editors(Is this a normal lesson or an installation lesson?)Installation Overview(Of what?)Installing Node.jsSetting up GitInstalling RubyProject: Installing Rails(Project? Why?)Installing PostgreSQL
I have three proposals:
- Add a
Setup:prefix to installation lessons, so it is easier to distinguish them, similar toProject: - Use a new icon to distinguish these installation lessons from other lessons or projects. I'm thinking this icon is really good , but there are many alternatives
- Rename the lessons to be more descriptive
How I'd rename them:
Setup: Operating System and Google ChromeSetup: Visual Studio CodeInstallation Overview: This lesson isn't an installation lesson. It's a supplement toSetup: Operating System and Google Chrome, In my opinion it's not worth to keep this lesson separate and it would be better to merge the two lessons into one lesson then.Setup: Node.jsSetup: Git and GitHubSetup: RubySetup: Ruby on RailsSetup: PostgreSQL
Alternative
If the above ideas don't get accepted, I still think that Text Editors should be renamed to Installing VSCode and Installations should be renamed to Setting up an Operating System, and Installation Overview should be renamed to Operating System Installations Overview, or the two lessons should be completely merged. The three names aren't descriptive enough.
Also, I think it's worth to convert Project: Installing Rails from a project to just a normal lesson.
