I have the same problem and not also for merging, also for pruning.

I've try:

1. supermerger
2. native merger
3. model tool.

• I've try a lot of models
• I've try a lot of version of A1111 (1.8.0, 1.9.3, 1.9.4)

but this issue is still here.
