Add languages

Open lanodan opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

There is languages that are in ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 (even if I don’t like United States of American as worldwide standards) and I think are worth having (maybe all the ISO 639 space would be nice):

  • Lojban: jbo
  • Klingon: tlh Also note that ISO 639 also got Collective languages (for example cel for celtic languages) which can be nice for linguist people or people that doesn’t have enough people speaking their languages but can learn a "near" one.

I don't usually bother bringing this up with centralized services but as decentralized services are attempting to be better, I'd like to bring this up. Spoken languages are not the only languages in our world, would you please consider adding signed languages such as American Sign Language, British Sign Language, etc.

These are actual languages in heavy use versus novelty or academic languages like the Klingon example above.

@Iteratix Maybe I'm missing something but I don't really understand how one can use sign languages on Mastodon?
