Facebook Messenger unread counter not working

Facebook Messenger not showing unread messages count (in tab header / global counter).

Steps to reproduce

1. Send some messages to messenger
2. Messages shown as unread on messenger tab
3. But there are NO unread messages notification on tab header or global counter (tray icon)

Same process works correctly on others services (Gmail / Whatsup / Teams} for me and worked some weeks ago for messenger too... so i think there are some change on messenger side and hamsket is unable to read / parse unread count.

Same here - my only hope is that a kind (and knowledgeable) soul can provide a JS script as we have for whatsapp

There is a note that says To enable desktop notifications, you have to go to Options inside Messenger. Did you try this?

EDIT: I tried it and it seems like it still doesn't work.
