HDR looks washed out, TV not detecting HDR from app

Describe the bug I have an Xbox Series X that I've had Moonlight on and I recently upgraded to a HDR-enabled TV. The TV is able to properly detect and switch to HDR when a HDR game is playing, such as Forza Horizon. On my PC, I have a setup that allows me to play HDR over moonlight thanks to the HDR-enabled IDD Driver on Windows. This setup works for getting HDR working on my OLED Steam Deck over moonlight.

On the Moonlight Xbox app, when I select "Enable HDR" and my host has HDR enabled, the app itself becomes very washed out. If I open my TV's picture settings, it does not detect HDR is being played, unlike when I play Forza for example. After quitting the host, the app continues to be stuck washed out until I quit it. When I restart the app, it looks like it's in normal SDR colours until the HDR host is launched again. I have tried 4K120, 4K60 and 1440p60 all yielding the same results.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Moonlight
  2. Press the "start" button on the host
  3. Enter host settings
  4. Check "Enable HDR"
  5. Return to host and select any app
  6. Ensure HDR is enabled on the host

Expected behavior The TV is able to detect HDR and the colours are not washed out.

Screenshots or Videos Normal colours on fresh launch: image

"Disconnect and Close" still leaves the app washed out: image

Logs I don't see anything out of whack, I do see that it's using HVEC and that HDR is enabled in the logs.
