Would like to help
Hello, I am a Voyager user. I sent Leo a detailed description of features to help users more easily inspect their images, remove them from Shots Done and move them to a "Rejected" folder. The current process most people use is very time consuming and prone to error.
However, Leo suggested I look at your tool. It looks extremely interesting. I think it is something a lot of people can use.
My scope partner and I have a Planewave DeltaRho 350 in a remote observatory in West Texas. He has been using Voyager for years and helped Leo build the Moon Avoidance Lorentzian feature. https://forum.starkeeper.it/t/moon-avoidance-lorentzian/3870
We would love to be beta testers and provide any help we can. We aren't coders, but I am a retired custom software development executive with extensive usability and HCI design experience and he has decades of advanced astrophotography skills, speaks at AIC and other astro events and works with professional astronomers to take the first images of newly discovered planetary nebula, etc.
We are happy to help.
Thanks
Hello,
that’s great, I’m happy you’re interested in my tool!
I’d totally be happy to receive any kind of feedback, especially from people with different, and also more advanced, kinds of equipment and observatories. Since this started out as a small personal project to simplify my workflow it is of course first and foremost tailored to my own needs, so it’d be interested to hear whether it’s also useful to other people like yourself. I’m sure there’s also lots to be improved from a UX/HCI point of view.
There is now an installer you can use in case you want to try it out: Releases · TheCyberBrick/FITS-Rating-Tool · GitHub Unfortunately there's not yet much documentation, but many things in the UI have tooltips. Of course, if you have any questions or issues, please feel free to ask.
Here’s the job file I use to evaluate my own images: https://gist.github.com/TheCyberBrick/ce4f3920c0497802d7bcfb3d0b190229
