The power ring currently has vertical straps on one layer and horizontal straps on the other, using vias in the middle. These vias add considerable resistance.

Proposal

An option in OpenLane should be surfaced for the power ring to exist entirely on one layer.

Alternatives

The original setup will continue to exist.
