[FR] Presets can not be loaded until 'save' is clicked on the settings window

This is probably confusing to the user.

Settings are saved and stored on the front end in JS. Those changes aren't sent to the backend until 'save' is clicked. Loading settings is done on the backend, so presets aren't available to be loaded until after 'save' is clicked.
