Quest: Redleaf Tubers (1221) - Command Sticks not spawned
The Snufflenose Command Sticks (68865) are not spawned beside the questgiver.
This item should be spawned at about: -928.284 -3694.540 7.908 1
If you check the video here you see that the player picks up the command sticks right beside them inside of a pot.
If the command sticks aren't actually in the build then it might be taken into consideration for the quest to be removed.
The command stick didn't exist in 0.5.3, as not only is its entryID too high to have existed but its spellID doesn't exist in 0.5.3. However, the Snufflenose crate with its spellID and the spell that the Snufflenose uses to create a tuber both exist in 0.5.3. Also, there is a spellfocus with ID 23 that both of these spells require the player/Snufflenose to be nearby in order for the Snufflenose to create a tuber. Looking into spellfocus.dbc reveals that this spellfocus is called "Tuber-rich Soil", confirming that it was intended for this quest.
Upon further investigation, the only gameobject I could find was a dummy gameobject with an insanely high ID, one that surpasses even late Vanilla/TBC gameobjects. This made me think at first that the gameobject did not exist in 0.5.3, however the entry directly below it is a dummy object as well with a similarly existing spell focus. This seems to imply that they were given a ridiculously high ID for ease of retrieval, as older gameobjects with these spell focuses do not exist, not even ones sniffed by Trinitycore (who, for perspective, were able to sniff the OG Monastery door gameobjects), and nothing in their data aside from their entry IDs is something that didn't exist in 0.5.3.
With that being said, how the quest seemed to have originally worked in 0.5.3 was essentially the same but without the command stick. Essentially, whenever the Snufflenose got near a Tuber-rich Soil focus, it would automatically move to it and spawn the tuber. They likely added the command stick later to increase the difficulty of the quest as during this time it was basically automated with no player input needed, or because the Snufflenose was buggy with detecting nearby tubers.
When thinking about this It may have works, originally, like the quest Shizz Work in TBC. The object may have radiated an aura, the NPC would respond, and dig up the tuber, where you clicked on it. The developers at the time may have deemed it too server intensive to have the aura trigger the spell so many times inside the instance and make the command stick requirement later to take the load off.
That would be my take, even if I can't substantiate it. For the moment it might just be a good idea to disable the quest until someone can work on it.
That's sort of what the spell focus gameobject does. Essentially, when the Snufflenose gets close to it, it goes to it and creates the tuber gameobject. There isn't a visible glow, which seems to have been intentional as only the Snufflenose are meant to be able to locate and dig up tubers. However, it does seem likely that they did add the stick to take some load off the server, as the Snufflenose would be digging up tubers constantly until it despawned.
