Can't add inventory on chrome or safari

When I hit "add item", the inventory box grows to show the input fields, then shrinks again immediately.

This happens in a few places where buttons are supposed to expand or shrink a field. As far as I can tell it's due to attaching the UI events to the buttons multiple times when a character is opened from the home page or from another character. So when you push the button, the fields are toggled open and then closed again.

A quick workaround is just to refresh the page.
