Rapidleech kills the server while trying to split a big file

It kills (freezes) the server when I try to split files over 500MB. After it unfreezes, it shows partially splitted files if I mark "Show Everything". Files smaller than that size splits perfectly.

split code only uses a chunk of 2 mb, it shouldn't have any issue... can you post your php version, and the Server API that it's running (from phpinfo();)?
