[Discussion] Bookmarks for directories

Open FelipeRearden opened this issue 4 years ago • 5 comments

Hello @TfTHacker and friends!

Little Question: is it possible to define an Folder (directory or subdirectory) as a Bookmark?

  • I read the Bookmarks description, but I think I did something wrong.

For a specific project I was thinking about define a Folder as a Bookmark to have a subset of Notes to choose when transport text instead a specific Note.

Thanks and have a great day!

This is an interesting idea. The design is to work with targeted files (bookmarking them and locations inside them. So you will use a file name:

directory/filename.md

If you want a location in the file:

directory/filename.md#TOP

I will make a note about possibilities of bookmarking folders. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello @TfTHacker !

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to help!

Thinking about this new feature, two things are important in my opinion:

  • the commands feature TOP BOTTOM the text on a line in your target file. should be available as well; --> directory/;TOP
  • If the directory/ bookmarked is the same as the active/current File the list that will open to choose the files shouldn't show the active/current File

Let me know if I want me to open an FR specific for this feature/idea.

Have a great day!

Let us keep this one open. No promises, as I am not sure yet how it would fit into the workflow. But its a solid idea. Lets see what others say.

Sure!

I’m gonna change the title for [Discussion] to make this issue more appealing for our community friends!

just in case this request gets some attention in the future: Something like bookmarking a tag would be useful.

For example bookmarking #moc would make all your files bookmarked with "#moc" automatically bookmarks, instead of having to add them manually.
