Possible multiworld softlocks
There are a few softlocks that are specific to multi world, krimtonz asked me to make an issue for one of them, but I thought it best to list the others I know of, in case something can be done about them:
- [x] Diving in the LW shortcut to ZR, you can receive an item right when you are below the ceiling but not in the load zone yet. Link will start resurfacing and get stuck on the small bit of ceiling. I assume this is also possible for ZD <-> LH, we only had it happen in LW so far, maybe the load zone doesn't leave enough room there to get stuck. (Maintainer's note: fixed by #387)
- [ ] Because of the required "delay" to receiving items after coming out of a crawlspace, it is possible to softlock in the back of LLR. Running straight for the HP, if you had received an item while crawling, they would "overlap" and softlock you. This is entirely preventable by the player with just a second or two of waiting, but might catch new players off guard. Also less likely to happen now that you can see the item while crawling and won't always grab it.
- [ ] The other softlocks are related to not being able to close textboxes because an item is received. Most notably during Hyrule Castle guard stealth section (one of the reasons we disable it), but also for the outside guards and the boat ride in shadow temple.
Thanks for opening this. The first one should be pretty easily fixable by adding another restriction on links state. The other two look a little harder to fix, but I’ll look into them.
