Reversal Gadget Deletes Equipment

When playing as Inventor (Episode 6, if relevant), I used Crystal Sword my first turn (a once-a-battle equipment). I then swapped equipment with the enemy, swapped back, and won the battle. When the battle was over the crystal sword was no longer equipped or in the backpack. I'm assuming the Reversal gadget doesn't check for equipment that has used but is still equipped? Amazing game by the way!
