Why do cobblestones need to be sticked with mortar? TFC's cobblestones are unstable blocks that roll around like gravel and cannot be used as building blocks. Its variants can also cause collapse at any time. This modification resulted in a pile of small rocks obtained from mining being scattered everywhere because they are literally useless.

Your solution

Change the recipe back to its original form, as the actual gameplay of pebbles is a pile of crushed stones rolling like a fluid, rather than a building block carefully stacked with mortar.

yeah I'm not really sure why TFG changes this from the TFC defaults. It'd also be nice if all the other rock types we're adding had cobble/gravel versions as well, to go with these changes 🤔

You can craft it in-world by creating cave ins and mining the resulting cobble, it's generating more cobble per stone as well, so the recipe is pretty useless
