Output report and waveform not showing

This more of an inquiry than a bug report, first things first:

OS: Windows 11 Tools: ModelSim, GTKWave.

To sum it up, everything is vertified and located by the extenstion, the files compile and testbench gets no errors, but nothing else but the build folder shows up in the output, and despite a .vcd folder being there it doesn't open if i have the wavaeform set to GTKWave, it doesn't give any error of sorts. My question is: are these features limited to certain tools like quartus?

Had the same problem, and found that the solution was setting Tools → Select the execution mode to GUI. Otherwise no .vcd file is created. I have successfully gotten wavevorms with GHDL and ModelSim.
