Pasting with "Move pasted item to top of stack" enabled shows current to of stack briefly

I'm using version 1.9.6 (9) on macOS Monterey 12.4. See here when I paste A it flashes to B, but still actually pastes A.

I'm also seeing this. For plain text fields I can usually ignore it. But when pasting passwords it is especially confusing since you don't see what text the field actually has. So if I'm cycling through my passwords quickly I'm not sure if I pasted the correct password.
