Flycut overlay gets stuck on mouse click

Open ghost opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

The flycut overlay gets stuck when you perform the following action:

  1. Flycut command triggered
  2. Flycut overlay appears and I can traverse through clipboard history
  3. Mouse click on other application screen whilst still holding command keys
  4. Ley go of command keys
  5. Overlay stays on screen and data does not paste
  6. Flycut command triggered again
  7. I can still traverse through clipboard history
  8. Does not paste when I let go and overlay still on screen

The only way to clear the screen is to either

  1. Quit Flycut
  2. Select a history state from the tool bar menu ( This will paste the data and hide the overlay )

I'm seeing this consistently with the same repro steps as well

I was just running into this exact issue too. Another way to get out of this state is to click anywhere inside the stuck overlay and then hit Esc. That works reliably for me (on v1.9.5 from the Mac App Store), and doesn't require an unwanted paste command.

can confirm that same issue is triggered in point 3 by a two-finger click outside the box instead of a mouseclick on a macbook touchpad.

many thanks for the "click inside the box + esc". really helps!

@jroersma I hated this bug, and I've been using FlyCut for 5 years now. I can't believe there is a workaround! I still think this bug should be corrected but now I don't have to force quit the app anymore. 🎉
