What would you use this icon for?

This icon would be useful for applications which store outdoor activities. To distinguish between the outdoor sports it is useful to have icons for the different sports

This seems like it would be covered with our current biathlon icon.

the biathlon symbol is similar, but not quite there for two reasons:

• not going up-hill (but on a flat surface)
• not having a backpack, but a gun on the back

• The angle of the icon can be controlled by your use of it.
• The object on the back is ambiguous on purpose. My interpretation of it is actually of a backpacking back pack.

1. only the skis should change the angle - not the hiker / poles. Otherwise it will look all wrong.
2. it is distinctly gun shaped (long object, with a big end). - the object / backpack for hiking is quite different hiking
